Ashley Washburn is an Emmy-winning sports reporter and anchor who believes the best sports stories go far beyond the scoreboard. With nearly a decade of experience covering professional and collegiate sports, she has built her career around earning trust, creating access, and telling the stories that connect athletes to the people who cheer them on.
Ashley began her career as a news and sports reporter at KBZK in Bozeman, Montana, where she was later promoted to Sports Director. During her time there, she was named a finalist for Montana Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association and received two regional Emmy nominations. She then joined WTMJ in Milwaukee, covering Wisconsin’s professional and collegiate teams, including the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks. She hosted Packers Live, served as a pregame host and preseason sideline reporter for the Green Bay Packers, and produced original storytelling projects that highlighted the people and communities behind sports.
During her time at WTMJ, Ashley earned a Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award for Outstanding Craft Achievement in Sports Reporting, bringing her Wisconsin regional Emmy recognition to three nominations. She was also named a finalist for Wisconsin Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association.
Among her proudest accomplishments are creating EmpowHERing the Game, a series celebrating the women and girls making an impact in sports across Wisconsin, and Testing the Torch, an original series exploring Wisconsin’s connection to Winter Olympic sports. Through both projects, Ashley combined enterprise reporting with a hands-on approach to storytelling, finding unique ways to connect audiences with the people, passion, and work behind the competition.
Ashley currently serves as an NFL Update Anchor for the Packers Radio Network, delivering live updates, halftime coverage, and postgame analysis during Green Bay Packers broadcasts.
A San Diego native, Ashley graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in journalism. Her experience also includes ESPN, NBC 7 San Diego, KUSI, and the Los Angeles Chargers.
